3 Week Crochet Course

Would you like to learn how to Crochet? Maybe you had a little go at home and would like some help getting going.
 
This three week course will cover the basics of Crochet, from how to hold your hook and yarn to how to make a blanket.
 
Meeting even week we will work together to learn different techniques and to develop our skill, working at your pace and covering the areas your interested in.
 
Dates;
Week 1: Thursday 6th June
Week 2: Thursday 13th June
Week 3: Thursday 20th June
 
£45 per person, all materials provided.
 
Booking is essential due to limited places. A deposit of £20 must be paid to secure your place on the course.

Sew a Shopping Bag

In this workshop you will make a shopping bag to brighten up your shopping trips! This workshop is ideal for beginners looking to improve their skills and confidence on the sewing
machine.
 
You will get to grips with following a pattern and using your sewing machine to construct the bag. Numbers in the group will be small, so plenty of time for 1:1 help if needed.
 
You will need to bring a sewing machine (ideally with its manual if you have it!), and sewing thread for your machine.
 
Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided along with equipment such as scissors and pins as well as a choice of fabric for the bag.
 
Unless otherwise stated, workshops and classes are suitable for adults or accompanied young people only.

This workshop is ideal for beginners looking to improve their skills and confidence on the sewing machine or for anyone wanting to start making clothes.
In the session you will get to grips with following a pattern, cutting out fabric, using your sewing machine to
construct the skirt with French seams and insert elastic for the waist. Numbers in the group will be small, so plenty of time for 1:1 help if needed.
You will need to bring a sewing machine (ideally with its manual if you have it!), fabric for your skirt and sewing thread for your machine.

This fun 3 hour workshop run by award winning glass artist Lisa MacFarlane all take you through the process needed to create a fused glass bowl using glass fusion.

This workshop is ideal for beginners looking to improve their skills and confidence on the sewing machine or for anyone looking for a fun new project.
 
You will get to grips with following a pattern, cutting out fabric, using interfacing, using your sewing machines to construct the bags, insert a lining and add some topstitching for a professional finish.
 
Numbers in the group will be small, so plenty of time for 1:1 help if needed. This all means that you will take home a beautifully finished pouch.
 
You will need to bring a sewing machine (ideally with its manual if you have it!), fabric for your pouch and sewing thread for your machine (full details will be provided following booking).

Pyrography

Pyrography; the art of decorating wood or other materials with burn marks.
 
Come along to this two hour taster session into wood burning. You will be given wood to practise on and a selection of wooden spoons and spatulas to decorate in images of your choosing. Be as simple or artistic as you want.

Seaglass Wrapping

Learn how to transform the seaglass you have collected over the years into necklaces.
 
Each person will receive 30cm of copper wire and 30cm of sterling silver wire and a ribbon necklace.
 
More wire and silver necklaces are available to buy at the session.

Weekly Craft Club

Join us each Wednesday at 6pm with your own creative project to drink tea and chat. On the last Wednesday of the month we host Make It night where we can learn new skills and have a go at different projects.
